Pasta Alfredo

 Ingredients:

  • 12 ounces fettuccine pasta
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Cook the fettuccine pasta according to the package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta.

  2. In a large skillet over low heat, melt the butter. Add the heavy cream, salt, and black pepper, and whisk to combine.

  3. Increase the heat to medium and continue to whisk the sauce until it thickens slightly, about 5 minutes.

  4. Add the freshly grated Parmesan cheese to the sauce and whisk until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.

  5. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add some of the reserved pasta cooking water a little at a time until the sauce reaches the desired consistency.

  6. Serve the pasta Alfredo immediately, garnished with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Enjoy!
